And the T&G section of Unite also say that many of their members are looking to leave the Island because the prospects of ever owning their own home is becoming more remote.
Union official Nick Corbel said: 'By the sounds of it the politicians would appear to be quite content that there only seems to be a future for the rich in Jersey.'
Yesterday it was revealed that the average price of a three-bedroom property in Jersey reached £417,000 in the three months to the end of June. That was 11% higher than at the same time last year.
The increase in the overall average price of property grew by eight per cent to stand at £388,000 at the end of June.
