Fostering and Adoption Jersey, which recruits, assesses and supports carers, said that the couple had great potential parenting skills, as well as the support of their family and friends.
Sean Pontin (pictured), who heads the team, said: 'They are a great couple and some of the most intuitive potential parents that we have come across.
'The fact that they are two men does not preclude that statement. They have the potential to understand children's needs as well as anyone.'
The couple, who are in their 30s, said: 'We have considered carefully the impact upon any child placed with us.
'It is of paramount importance to us that any placement is in the child's best interests not just ours. We believe, and have shown, that we can offer a stable, loving home whilst instilling and providing boundaries needed to give a child the best start in life'
Like many other parents who have successfully been through the selection process, the two men are now waiting for a suitable child to adopt.
