Elected States MembersThe Island does not have a formal party political system even though political parties are not precluded. Members are elected as individuals. There is a widespread belief in the island that the lack of political parties is a great strength and prevents dramatic swings in policy. However, there is also a strong move towards reconstructing the machinery of government to provide stronger executive powers.Senators Constables or Connétables Deputies
