Working in Jersey
Most overseas nationals coming to work in Jersey need work permits.
British citizens, nationals of the European Economic Area, Commonwealth citizens coming to Jersey for a working holiday and Commonwealth citizens admitted on the grounds of UK ancestry are exempt but must obtain an entry clearance before arriving in Jersey. Non-British citizens are required to have a visa and a work permit to enter Jersey for employment.
Even when a work permit is not required, it can be difficult to find a job. Island employers are required to fill vacancies with local residents (or with those who have lived here for at least the past five years). So check with prospective employers to determine whether they can employ newcomers.
