Trading Standards ServiceIf you are in dispute with a trader regarding goods purchased or a sub standard service or you just have a general consumer enquiry - call Trading Standards
Officers provide a free professional confidential Advisory Service. After hearing your problem, the Consumer Advisory Officer will explain your rights and advise on the best way forward. In some circumstances he may approach the trader on your behalf and endeavour to negotiate a suitable remedy. Additional assistance will also be given to consumers with particular needs. Trading Standards now has a dedicated website www.tradingstandards.gov.je with up to date (Jersey) information on a range of subjects including advice leaflets, how to write a letter of complaint, safety advice, frequently asked questions and consumer news. This is very much a "help yourself" area. Once you have browsed, you can, if you wish, register a complaint online and an officer will be in contact with you. Hours of operation: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
