CyclingWhether it's a mountain bike or a tandem, cycling is a very cheap and enjoyable form of transport.Jersey's wealth of quiet lanes create a cycle network that can peacefully take you on two wheels through all twelve parishes. Some of these lanes have been identified as "Green" which gives pedestrians and cyclists priority over motor vehicles, along with a 15 mph speed limit. There is a waymarked set of routes across the Island that make the most of these lanes but if you want more guidance it is possible to hook up with professional tour guides who can tell you everything you might like to know about the landmarks and scenery en route. Arthur Lamy is a Jersey Tourism Blue Badge Guide and in an extract from his latest book, "Jersey Cycles", reproduced in this section, we catch up with Arthur as he takes us through part of St. Lawrence.
