Other Events
For a small Island, Jersey has a calendar full of festivals.
Nautical
On a nautical theme, the Jersey Regatta is organised by the St Helier and Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club and features races between local and visiting sailing craft. Also La Tour des Ports de la Manche is a French yacht race from Granville to La Collette marina which gives 700 sailors the chance to compete for a Vin d'Honneur.
Festive
Then there are the numerous carol concerts that are a feature of Jersey's annual Christmas festival - Fete de NouŽ. These are just part of the festive celebrations, which also include street entertainment, horse drawn carriage rides and Christmas fairs.
Historical
Jersey also has plenty of events that celebrate the Island's history and traditions. In 2004 especially there are a range of events scheduled to mark the 1204-2004 celebrations highlighting with a week-long Revels at Gorey in June. La Hougue Bie re-enacts Jersey's ancient past with demonstrations of Bronze Age daily life during Neolithic Week. St Helier has its own week of festivities including a motor rally around Mount Bingham. Hamptonne hosts its own Country Fair, whilst Mont Orgeuil offers three days of Restoration Re-enactment featuring period comedy, musicians and demonstrations.
