Sewage and water provision in Jersey

Properties not connected to the mains drains use soakaways or private treatment systems.

The States of Jersey Public Services Committee operate tankers that will empty soakaways or storage tanks as necessary. Households that cannot be connected to mains sewer and have septic tanks are allowed two 750 gallon tanks free of charge per calendar year. Septic tanks normally are emptied within five working days of placing the request. For more information, call Public Service's Septic Tank Division at .

Water rates are dependent on the rateable value of the property. But not all properties are connected to mains water and mains drainage. If the property has its own water supply (well, bore hole or rainwater catchment) no water rates are imposed. Telephone: Jersey New Waterworks Company Ltd.: .
