Television and radio stations and internet connectivity in Jersey
Television

Cable and satellite
- Newtel Cable Ltd. offers cable hook up but mainly to those living in town. Contact its office on Colomberie, St. Helier to find out if cable services are available in your area. Telephone: .
- Satellite installation is available to those living outside of town. The phonebook has a list of companies that hook up satellite and television aerials. If you don't want the hassle, electronics stores like Fortuna Ltd. on Halkett Place and FotoSound on 5 Charing Cross have the forms needed to sign up for the Sky digital package of your choice and can arrange satellite installation at the same time.
- French television also is available in Jersey. A French aerial is needed to receive the broadcasts. For more information, contact the companies that provide satellite and aerial installation.
TV licence
If you own a TV, you must pay for a TV licence. If you move, you must transfer your licence from your old address to be properly licensed to use a TV. You do not have to pay for a licence if you do not use your set to watch or record television programmes. An Enquiry Officer may visit your property to confirm the situation.

Radio
No matter what your musical taste, there is a plethora of radio stations to select from.
On the local front there is:
- Radio Jersey (88.8 FM) offers running commentary on Island life and phone ins;
- Channel 103 (103.7 FM) is a commercial radio station that plays Top of the Pops hits;
Guernsey
- Radio Guernsey (93.2 FM or 1116 AM) keeps listeners posted on events in neighbouring Guernsey;
And from the UK:
- Radio One (97.1 FM) plays current chart hits from garage metal to rap music;
- Radio Two (89.6 FM) offers easy listening;
- Radio Three (91.1 FM) offers a variety of classical and jazz tunes;
- Radio Four (94.8 FM) is a talk radio format that provides commentary on current affairs;
There is a plethora of French radio stations to chose from and the reception of stations like Radio Femme and Radio Classique is crisp for those who live in the East.
Internet
You can connect to the Internet either with a standard dial-up or broadband connection available from Jersey Telecom, LocalDial or Newtel. There are also a number of internet cafes, like City Bar on Halkett Place, Murray's cafe in St Aubins and Cafe JAC at the Jersey Arts Centre, where you can get online. Internet service and training also is available at the Jersey Library.
